22.78%! P-type single-crystal PERC battery efficiency achieved world record

On October 25, 2017, JinkoSolar announced that it has achieved a world record in a number of battery module technologies. Verified by the testing laboratory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the P-type single-crystal PERC battery developed by the company has a conversion efficiency of up to 22.78%, creating a new world record. This is yet another world record for Jingke Energy to break the efficiency of single-crystal PERC batteries, following a new record of 22.04% in the efficiency of P-type polycrystalline PERC batteries. Verified by TUV Rheinland Laboratory, the power of the Jinko Energy P-type 60 single-crystal module reaches 356.5W, and the power of the P-type 60-size polycrystalline module reaches 347.6W, which has attracted the attention of the photovoltaic industry.

The efficiency of the P-type single-crystal polycrystalline PERC solar cell obtained this time has been greatly improved, and is mainly based on the application of several efficient technologies, including: high-performance P-type silicon substrate, bulk passivation technology, multilayer antireflection film technology, selective emitter Technology and fine-grid metallization technologies. The selective emitter (SE) and fine-gate metallization technologies greatly reduce the recombination loss on the surface of the battery and effectively increase the open-circuit voltage and battery efficiency of the PERC battery. At the same time, Jingke’s unique multi-layer passivation technology has also greatly contributed to the improvement of battery efficiency. The increase in the power of the components is due to the reduction of internal electrical losses, the full use of internal light, and the improvement of battery efficiency.
