China Hualong No. 1 core measurement system technology research is one of the key scientific research projects of CNNC. The development work was started in 2012. The whole system includes the core neutron flux measurement signal processing system and the core cooling monitoring system signal processing equipment. According to reports, when the reactor is running, the system can monitor the core neutron flux distribution, temperature and key point water level signals in real time, and calculate the three-dimensional power distribution of the core in real time through signal collection. In the case of super-design basis accidents and serious accidents in the reactor, the temperature and key water level information in the core can be measured, which greatly improves the monitoring capability of the Hualong No. 1 reactor core.

At the same time, the core detector component of Hualong No.1 is no longer taken out from the bottom of the pressure vessel, but is taken out from the top of the reactor pressure vessel through the structure of the measuring mechanism inside the reactor, which greatly reduces the melting and leakage probability of the core and improves the probability. The overall safety management level of Hualong No. 1 reactor.

In late August of this year, the calculation software and test cabinet part of Hualong No. 1 Advanced Core Measurement System obtained the design and manufacturing license for civil nuclear safety equipment issued by the National Nuclear Safety Administration. At present, the test work of the core neutron-temperature measurement detector assembly and the core liquid level measurement detector assembly is in full swing, which indicates that the Hualong No. 1 advanced core measurement system has basically the production and application capability, which is Hualong No.1.
