Floor formaldehyde content to be revised

Home environmental protection has always been one of the most concerned issues for consumers. In recent years, pollution incidents caused by excessive levels of formaldehyde on the floor have caused many consumers to “talk about aldehydes”. The formaldehyde standards of domestic flooring products are too "loose" and frequently criticized. Recently, the sources stated that the state will strengthen the floor-level limit of formaldehyde emission and force a reduction in the limit value of formaldehyde emission.

It is reported that the National Standardization Management Committee plans to revise GB18580-2001 national standards (decrease of formaldehyde in interior decoration materials, wood-based panels and their products), or remove the E2 standard by then. If this standard is implemented, the amount of formaldehyde released from the floor cannot exceed 1.5 mg/L, otherwise it will be exceeded.
