Foreign media: China imports 19% more crude oil from Saudi Arabia this year

According to the “Eurasian Oil and Gas Network” Riyadh on October 4th, the Saudi Arabia News Agency, headquartered in Riyadh, quoted Yang Honglin, the Chinese ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as saying that China’s crude oil imports from Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest crude oil exporter, will be imported this year. This is an increase of 19% from last year.

Chinese officials in Riyadh told reporters from the Saudi Arabian News Agency that crude oil imported from Saudi Arabia this year will be increased from 41.85 million tons last year to 50 million tons.

According to China National Petroleum Corporation, China’s largest energy company, China plans to increase its refining capacity by 31.5 million tons this year, bringing China’s annual refining capacity to 51.5 million tons or 10.3 million barrels per day.

According to the latest statistics released by the General Administration of Customs of China recently, China imported 28.3 million tons of crude oil from Saudi Arabia in the first eight months of this year, making Saudi Arabia the largest crude oil supplier in China and second in Angola. In the first eight months of this year, Angola exported 27.9 million tons of crude oil to China.
