Hainan will vigorously develop green new energy

With the construction of Hainan International Tourism Island, the energy consumption demand will continue to increase during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, and the contradiction between traditional energy supply and economic development will become increasingly apparent. In order to solve the problem of the continuous expansion of Hainan's power gap during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, Hainan will use its own resources to develop new energy power generation projects in the next few years.

During the “12th Five-Year Plan” period, Hainan’s electricity consumption in the whole society is expected to increase by 14% annually, and in 2015 it will reach 30 billion kWh. Among them, the province's electricity gap will reach 1.4 million kilowatts during 2013-2014. In order to solve this problem, Hainan will make full use of these existing green resources such as wind power and solar energy, vigorously develop new energy, and ease the shortage of power supply in Hainan.

At present, Hainan has already built a number of clean energy power generation projects based on photovoltaic power generation, such as Hainan Eco-Software Park's demonstration project for photovoltaic building integration and “China Aviation Special Glass 0.85MW photovoltaic building integration demonstration project. At the same time, Hainan will continue to The Haikou Hi-tech Development Zone, the Old City Economic Development Zone and the Yangpu Development Zone will be declared as “400MW Distributed Photovoltaic Power Demonstration Zone” to the National Energy Administration. The share of energy in primary energy will increase from the current 30.6% to 57.6%.
