Germany has implemented E10 ethanol gasoline since January 1, 2011

Germany has announced that since January 1, 2011, Super E10 ethanol gasoline (10% ethanol-gasoline blend) has been introduced and refueled at more than 14,000 gas stations. Before that, German biofuels contained only 5% ethanol.

The German Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) estimates that 90% of German cars can use E10 ethanol gasoline.

BMU believes that gasoline containing higher amounts of ethanol can reduce the impact of carbon emissions on the environment and reduce dependence on depleted petroleum reserves. This move will help Germany achieve European Union directives and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the EU as a whole by 60% from 2018

Stainless Steel Industry Abrasives

The stainless steel industry relies heavily on abrasive products to achieve the surface finish and precision required during the manufacturing process. Products such as sanding discs, flap discs, abrasive belts, and abrasive cloth rolls play a key role in each stage of stainless steel processing, from preliminary processing to final finishing.
Sanding discs
Applications
Sanding discs are widely used in the stainless steel industry for surface preparation, grinding, and finishing. These discs are often applied to power tools such as angle grinders and orbital sanders, allowing workers to efficiently treat large surface areas.
Advantages
Surface preparation: Sanding discs effectively remove scale, rust, and other surface contaminants, creating a clean surface for subsequent processing steps.
Surface finishing: They are used to achieve a smooth, uniform surface finish on stainless steel parts, which is essential for both aesthetic and functional purposes.
Versatility: Available in a variety of grit sizes, sanding discs can be used for both aggressive material removal and fine polishing, making them a versatile tool in stainless steel manufacturing.
Flap discs
Applications
Flap sanding discs are abrasive products designed for aggressive material removal and blending. They consist of overlapping abrasive sheets attached to a backing plate, which provide a consistent and smooth grinding action.
Benefits
Material Removal: Flap Sanding Discs are ideal for removing large amounts of material, such as grinding welds and removing excess material from stainless steel surfaces.
Blending and Finishing: After grinding, flap sanding discs can blend and smooth the surface, reducing the need for multiple abrasive products.
Durability: Flap Sanding Discs are designed to wear gradually, exposing fresh abrasive grains and extending their life, which is particularly useful in industrial applications.
Abrasive Belts
Applications
Abrasive belts are used in belt sanders and other grinding machines for continuous, high-speed material removal and finishing. They are ideal for machining large stainless steel plates and components.
Benefits
Continuous Grinding: Abrasive belts provide a continuous cutting action, making them very efficient in large stainless steel machining.
Precision: They allow for precise control of material removal, resulting in a consistent surface finish and dimensional accuracy.
Variety: Abrasive belts are available in different widths, lengths, and grit sizes, and can be customized for specific applications, from coarse grinding to fine finishing.
Abrasive Cloth Rolls
Applications
Abrasive cloth rolls are flexible abrasive products used in the stainless steel industry for hand sanding, machine sanding, and other finishing processes. They can be cut to the right size for a specific task, offering great versatility.
Advantages
Flexibility: Emery cloth rolls are highly flexible, making them suitable for grinding irregular shapes and contours on stainless steel parts.
Convenience: They can be easily cut to the required size, providing a convenient solution for a variety of grinding and polishing tasks.
Surface treatment: Emery cloth rolls are ideal for fine finishing and polishing, helping to achieve a high-quality surface finish on stainless steel, which is essential for both functional and decorative purposes.
Comprehensive applications in the stainless steel industry
Initial material preparation
During the initial stages of stainless steel processing, abrasive products such as grinding wheels and abrasive belts are used to prepare the material. This includes removing scale, rust, and other impurities to create a clean surface for further processing.
Grinding and shaping
During the manufacturing process, flap discs and abrasive belts are used to grind and shape stainless steel parts. This includes smoothing welds, grinding off sharp edges, and achieving the desired size and shape.
Surface treatment and polishing
Emery cloth rolls and fine grinding wheels are essential for the final finishing stage. These products help polish stainless steel to a smooth, reflective surface, enhancing its appearance and preventing corrosion. High-quality surface preparation is particularly important in industries such as food processing and medical equipment, where surface smoothness and cleanliness are critical.
Maintenance and Repair
In addition to new manufacturing, abrasive products are used for the maintenance and repair of stainless steel equipment and structures. This includes rust removal, polishing surfaces and restoring the original finish of stainless steel parts.
