Polycarbonate, abbreviated as PC , is a kind of thermoplastic engineering plastic with excellent comprehensive performance. It has excellent electrical properties, low water absorption, good light transmission and visible light transmittance of over 90%. It is the only one of the five general engineering plastics. Since 2005, China's polycarbonate consumption has increased rapidly from 600,000 tons to 1.8 million tons, with an average annual consumption growth rate of 10%. Polycarbonate sheet is 25% higher than ordinary glass, impact strength is 250 times that of glass, and weight is only 1/2 of glass, so PC is an ideal lighting material for architectural decoration industry. The automobile is another important terminal application of the PC. The consumption ratio in developed countries is about 20%, but the domestic consumption ratio is only about 5%. Due to the high threshold of polycarbonate production technology, the production capacity is mainly concentrated in multinational chemical companies, and the supply is highly concentrated. According to statistics, the world's top six companies account for up to 94% of production capacity.
