These loads include computers, speed control systems, rectifiers, and communications equipment. The adverse effects brought about by the power quality problems involve many industrial fields, such as papermaking, textiles, food, automobiles, and semiconductor manufacturing.
According to data, the economic losses caused by power quality problems in the U.S. industry exceed $20 billion per year. On the other hand, due to the opening up of the electricity market in the world, the power companies supply electricity on the basis of quality arguments.
