Fortunately, Mr. Wang was in the kitchen. After hearing a loud noise, he rushed to the bathroom to check. The washing machine had blown up a big hole and the bucket was broken. In panic, Mr. Wang couldn't help but be glad that no family members were injured, but it was really unbelievable when he bought a washing machine that was less than three years old and actually exploded.

After receiving the complaint, the staff of Maanshan City Consumers Association contacted the manufacturer in time, asking the manufacturer to send people to the consumer's home to check the situation and investigate the cause of the explosion.

The reporter learned that Mr. Wang’s washing machine is a pulsator, and the pulsator washing machine can’t dry down the down jacket. The manufacturer clearly stated on the lid of the dry bucket that “not easy to expand clothes such as down jackets”, Indicate these. In order to better protect the rights and interests of consumers, the Maanshan City Consumers Association spent time investigating the reasons for the explosion of the washing machine. According to reports, the reasons for the explosion of the washing machine dry down jacket generally have the following four conditions: First, the outer layer of the down jacket generally has a waterproof coating, resulting in poor gas permeability and easy to float on the water surface during washing. After the water is completely immersed in the washing process, the filled down feathers will gather together, resulting in a large gap in the down jacket. When the car is dried at a high speed, the downs which have previously been saturated with water will continue to expand after dehydration, and air will be generated in the down jacket, and the waterproof coating is not conducive to gas discharge, and the down jacket will be continuously enlarged and the washing machine will be fully filled. The space inside the washing machine is limited, and the gas may accumulate to a certain extent, which may cause an explosion. Second, during the drying process, the down jacket and the inner wall of the washing machine will generate static electricity, and the large amount of heat generated will erupt in a short period of time, and a similar explosion phenomenon is likely to occur. Third, due to the waterproof coating on the outer layer of the down jacket, the water in the clothes is difficult to be discharged. If the down jacket is unbalanced when dry, the high-speed rotation will cause the dewatering barrel to violently hit the left and right sides, and an explosion will occur. Fourth, the explosion of the washing machine may also come from the problem of the washing machine itself, or the sewage pipe of the washing machine is sealed to generate biogas, and under the action of static electricity, an explosion occurs instantaneously.

It is understood that most washing machines can wash down jackets, but there are restrictions when drying down jackets. Non-sealed two-cylinder washing machines and pulsator washing machines are not suitable. In comparison, most of the drum washing machines can be used for drying down jackets. If you want to use a two-cylinder washing machine or a pulsator washing machine to dry down the down jacket, you can give the down jacket a strong, loose net bag when you dry it after rinsing.
